Within organizations there are many behavioral levels including individual, groups, and the organization wholly. Residing within these behavioral levels is power. Within organizations there are many types of power at play on any given day. Power can influence a great many things such as decisions, actions, coercion, success, even failure. Individual power can be a factor influencing the organization’s performance, whether as a high-performing organization or a poorly performing organization. Discuss four of the various power types an individual might display/practice (Uhl-Bien et al., 2013). Follow this discussion with a discussion on how each of these power types might aid in making a high performance organization or hinder an organization from performing well. Defend each element of your response with evidence based support (citations) throughout your paragraphs. Your response should be substantive with detail in length of between 6-8 pages not including cover or references pages. In addition to the article about the chosen organization, a minimum of 6 peer reviewed sources (journal articles within the past 5 years / authored books by seminal or master organizational behavior theorists) should be used to support your response.
