Referencing Styles : Harvard ASSESSMENT DESCRIPTION: In a business report format, students are supposed to select an Australian e-commerce website (such as www.ozsale.com.au) and undertake an in-depth evaluation of it, identify the main features such as applied business model(s), strategies and revenue model besides all related topics and materials provided in the course. By providing an overview and description of the nominated website, identify and elaborate the main positive and negative aspects of the website. Draw particular attention to the interaction and usability aspects of the interface. In addition, students are required to find out about the below main areas and provide their reasons: 1. Analyse the current website and formulate an E-Commerce implementation strategy. ECommerce implementation strategy should take into account all the services and features of the website. 2. If the business wants to broad its business activities and enters to the global market, what areas have to be considered in order to changing from national e-commerce website to an international one? Students are required to write an analytical essay to answer this question. This means students need to support their essay with references drawn from the lecture materials, journal articles, textbooks and other relevant materials. They are required to use E-Commerce literature from these sources to write their report successfully. Another important aspect they need to keep in mind is to ensure that they need to use proper referencing style and method to prepare their reference list and avoid plagiarism. Students are advised to find and apply minimum 5 academics journal articles besides books and other sources to support their arguments and in case bring to the attention of the course lecturer any problems at an early stage. Unit Learning Outcomes addressed: 1. Define the role of using electronic commerce on the business expansion. 2. Recognize the type(s) of business model(s). 3. Recognize the related revenue model in the selected website. 4. Recognize the implemented business strategies in the selected website. 5. Describe the development of secure electronic transactions on the Internet. 6. Explain privacy policies, online auctions and any potential legal or ethical issues. 7. Describe the ways that the website manages the customer relationship. 8. Recommendation for improvement of the website performance ASSESSMENT SUBMISSION: This assessment is an individual activity and students are required to meet the below criteria: Include a title page, executive summary, table of contents, introduction, headings, subheadings where necessary, conclusion, reference list and appendices where appropriate. Include in-text references and a correctly formatted reference list. (NB: you must reference all information you obtain about business models, companies and supporting sources in accordance with the Harvard Referencing (at least 5 relevant academic journals). The word limit of the report body is about 150010% words. The assignment must be submitted online in Moodle. All materials MUST be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word format. Other formats (e.g., pdf or MAC file) may not be readable by markers. Please be aware that any assessments submitted in other formats will be considered LATE and will lose marks until it is presented in MS Word. No paper based or hardcopy submission will be accepted.
